LOCKDOWN PERFORMANCES 2021
Future Optimist, Obsession and Insecure at Night are a trilogy of video performances created during the global lockdown. Rather than being separate explorations, the works collectively serve as a performative response to the isolation and shifting dynamics of human interaction experienced during this period.

The trilogy delves into the concept of 'undressing' in various forms—emotionally, spiritually, and physically—revealing a profound need for connection, validation, and human presence.
These performances expose the tension between the desire to be seen and the harsh realities of isolation. They express the deep need for connection while wrestling with other emotions that arise in confinement, such as the urge to stay resilient, the feeling of abandonment, and the yearning for love and togetherness.
Set entirely in domestic spaces, these videos explore the complexities of intimacy throughout the virtual realm, wanting to capture the fleeting energy of live performance in the transient nature of online interactions—much like trying to grasp a moment that quickly slips away.
The performances unfold on a web platform, juxtaposing human connection's raw, emotional intensity with the often detached and impersonal experience of online communication. This contrast highlights the fragility of relationships formed or sustained in isolation, where emotional exposure meets digital barriers.
