Brothers, Nostalgic Object was made in the summer of 2015 in Santa Marinella, a beach just south of Rome.

The film’s subjects, Matteo and Arturo, are the sons of a close friend of the artist, whom he has known since they were teenagers.

 

The artist spent significant time with them in Rome, developing a solid bond central to the film.

A subtle power dynamic emerged in their interaction, like a playful dance. The wood became a focal point of their bond briefly before drifting away in the water,

leaving the moment behind.
