Counterpunch is a site-specific installation presented at Art Night 2017 in collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery and curated by Fatos Üstek.

 

Hosted at The Dog & Truck Public House, it transformed the space into a playful boxing ring for one night, celebrating the hidden boxing matches that once took place in local pubs and arenas in

East London.

The project featured an outdoor film projection produced in collaboration with Lefthook, a boxing gym in Aldgate East.

 

The film, displayed on the pub's facade, followed boxer A-J as he warmed up before a match, capturing the strength, vulnerability, and sensuality of boxing.
