A Space to Engage creatively with Environmental and Social issues

Norwood JunkAction (NJA) was founded by Norman in 2022, inspired by a personal encounter in South Norwood where he learned how litter-picking became a tool for managing challenges like addiction and depression during the pandemic.

This sparked the idea to create a project that merges environmental action with creative expression, using art to explore social and environmental issues.

NJA transforms discarded litter into art, telling the stories of Croydon’s diverse community while addressing broader challenges like waste,

well-being, and community engagement.

Today, NJA collaborates with local organizations and institutions and provides a platform for those interested in exploring related topics in new, actionable ways. Offering support, structure, and resources, NJA helps further develop projects aligned with its mission of inspiring change through creativity and community.
